Calculate discounted price, savings and percentage off
Discount Calculator is a free online browser-based utility designed to calculate discounted price, savings and percentage off. All computations, processing, and rendering happen completely inside your browser client, ensuring your data is kept secure and private.
Enter the original price and the percentage off. The sale price is the original price multiplied by one minus the discount rate. For example, 20% off 1000 saves 200, so you pay 800. The tool shows the savings and the final price instantly, and amounts appear in rupees.
Switch on the additional discount. The second percentage is applied to the already-reduced price, not the original one. So 20% off then an extra 10% off 1000 gives 720, which is 28% off in total, not 30%.
Yes. Enter a tax rate and it is added to the discounted price. For example, 18% tax on a sale price of 720 adds 129.60, giving a total of 849.60. Leave the rate at 0 if you only need the discount.
The tool starts from a percentage, but you can find it by hand: subtract the sale price from the original, divide by the original and multiply by 100. For example, an item reduced from 800 to 600 saves 200, which is 25%. Then enter 25% to confirm the numbers.
Amounts are shown in Indian rupees with Indian digit grouping, such as 1,00,000. The maths is the same for any currency, so you can use the numbers for dollars, pounds or euros, just ignoring the rupee symbol.
Effectively yes for two identical items, because you pay for one and get two, which is 50% off each. But buy one get one free forces you to buy two, while a 50% discount lets you buy a single item cheaper. This calculator handles the percentage-off version.
