Convert colors between HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, CMYK
Color Converter is a free online browser-based utility designed to convert colors between hex, rgb, hsl, hsv, cmyk. All computations, processing, and rendering happen completely inside your browser client, ensuring your data is kept secure and private.
Paste the hex code into the input and the RGB values appear straight away. Each pair of hex digits is one channel, so #6366f1 is 63, 66 and f1 in hex, which is rgb(99, 102, 241) in decimal. The tool also shows HSL, HSV and CMYK for the same colour.
Enter a 3-digit or 6-digit hex code with or without the hash, an rgb() or rgba() value, three comma-separated numbers, or an hsl() value. Eight-digit hex codes with an alpha channel are not supported, and any transparency in rgba() or hsla() is not carried into the results.
Both describe a colour by hue, saturation and a third value. HSL uses lightness, where 0% is black, 100% is white and 50% is the pure colour. HSV uses value, meaning brightness, where 100% is the brightest version of the hue. HSL is common in CSS, and HSV in colour pickers.
It is shorthand where each digit is doubled, so #f60 equals #ff6600. It only works when each channel has two identical digits. The converter expands 3-digit codes automatically and shows the full 6-digit version.
It is a mathematical conversion from RGB, not a colour-managed print conversion. Real printers use ICC profiles for specific inks and paper, so colours can look different on paper. Use the CMYK numbers as a starting point and check a proof for critical work.
Any of them works. HEX is the most common and compact, RGB is readable when you need transparency with rgba, and HSL is the easiest to adjust by hand because you can change lightness or saturation without recalculating the whole colour.
