Frequently asked questions

How do I use the online stopwatch and record laps?

Press Start to begin timing and Pause to stop. While it is running, press Lap to record a split. Each lap shows its own lap time and the cumulative total, and newer laps appear at the top of the list. Reset clears the time and all laps.

How precise is the stopwatch?

It displays minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second (mm:ss.cc). It measures elapsed time using the browser high-resolution clock, so the reading stays accurate even if the display updates slowly. Human reaction time when you press the buttons is the biggest source of error.

What is the difference between lap time and total time?

Lap time is the time since the previous lap, or since the start for the first lap. Total (cumulative) time is the running time from the start. If you record laps at 1:00 and 2:30, the second lap time is 1:30 and the total is 2:30.

Does it highlight my fastest and slowest lap?

Yes. Once you have recorded at least two laps, the fastest and slowest laps are marked so you can compare your pacing at a glance. This is useful for running, swimming or any repeated task.

Are my laps saved if I close the page?

No. Times and laps are kept only while the page is open and are not saved to your browser. Reloading or closing the tab clears them, so note down or copy your results before leaving.

Does the stopwatch go past 60 minutes?

It keeps counting, but it shows minutes rather than switching to hours, so 75 minutes appears as 75:00.00. It works for long sessions as long as the tab stays open. For a countdown to a set time, use the Countdown Timer instead.

Is my data shared when using the Stopwatch?

No. Toolskyt operates under a zero-server policy. All calculations, data formatting, and file exports are executed locally on your machine.

Do I need to sign up or pay to use the Stopwatch?

No, this tool is 100% free. There are no limits, sign-ups, subscriptions, or hidden charges required.
